Study Question & Criteria


“How can we present evidence of effective teaching practices that inform our collective community understanding of ‘good teaching?’”


Suggested criteria to measure effective teaching (synthesized from information about the new teacher evaluation plan):
  1. Reflective thinking about teachers’ own teaching and learning practices.
  2. Identify and solve teaching, learning and/or classroom issues.
  3. Understand how to collect and use data to “identify . . . issues.”
  4. Implement action plans related to solving identified issues..
  5. Collaborate with colleagues in this process.
  6. Evaluate implementation plans and reflect on next steps in a continuous cycle.
